Thoughts from Gavin on EXposed…
I feel this is the best work I’ve ever done. With all the discussion in photography today it’s surprising how little we talk about art and science of exposure and tone control.
Making a great photograph is more than just clicking, buying new software, or pushing the buttons. It’s something that goes deeper and mastering it requires understanding light and tone in subtle ways.
In this digital age we have a lot of distractions. Gadgets, trends, new processing techniques. And while those can be very powerful, nothing at all compares to really understanding how to manage light at every stage. Not rules, so much as how to SEE and use light your way.
It all starts in the camera. It starts with understanding Exposure, Visualization, the Zone System. It follows into directing the viewers eye and knowing how to nail post process tonal control. That’s what EXposed is all about. Whether you’re a new photographer or a veteran that wants a refresh. Exposed where I lay it all out and share 15 years of experience on how to make light really “click” for you… Gavin Seim
