General Photo Discussion / What shade of gray for paper backdrop?

Hi!

I was curious what shade of grey to get for a paper backdrop. I have about 20 gels, but don't know what gray shade I should get.

Any help would be appreciated..

Hiya

Always been into photography and recently trying to become a professional for mainly weddings. I have a couple of Canon DSLR's and some lenses. I have some monolights, wireless triggers, a couple of flashes, and other nick nacks.

I'm hoping to move to Nikon when I can afford to make the switch over and sell all my Canon stuff.

I like capturing emotion in my pictures. I like capturing moments. I like to attempt to 'make images' rather than 'take images'.

I'm very much interested in wireless flash techniques right now.

I almost hate saying that I'm an aspiring photographer because it seems everyone is a photographer these days. It's like investing in the dot com bubble at it's peak is the wrong thing to do. Well here I am in a photography bubble saying I want to be a new photographer. But I don't want to be labeled another 'bad photographer'. That's why I'm here.

My goal is to learn how to use my equipment properly and learn lighting to the best of my ability and hopefully work some weddings.
