Portfolios to Client meetings
« on: March 15, 2012, 04:13:12 PM »
I'm just wondering if any of you out there bring portfolios of your work with you client/wedding consults or see benefits in it?

Some people say that you should always have a portfolio with you, but I've found that if a client is asking to meet with me, then they've already seen my work, know my style, and are more interested in meeting me (and hopefully signing a contract) over looking at more of my images. Also, after looking at albums and product samples - all of which contain my images, having them look through a portfolio might be a little overkill...

At the time of the meeting I'm moreso selling myself and my distinct style that I bring over the images themselves. Just wondering everyone else's thoughts on the matter.

To me a portfolio is ones albums and the like. Printed products are tangible and generally what I try to show.

I think it's goo to have an extend portfolio on a laptop etc. But I agree. They've probably already seen the website. At this point I want to take focus away from digital and focus on what I can make for them. Albums, wall prints, etc.
