Getting Serious > Dynamic Range & HDR
Santa Fe, NM HDR work
(1/1)
PinSpree:
Hey guys, went to New Mexico last year with serious aspirations of some HDR work. White Balance corrected in LR along with slight global tweaks, then combined using CS5's standard HDR engine. Not the best results, I'm sure, but impressive over CS4's pitiful engine.
I also did a cool 6-spot pano-stitch of Santa Fe from 12,000' elevation, but was only wide lens I had on me had pretty terrible barreling and I couldn't get all the lines to match up, so prob won't be showing that one off.
Let me know what you think.
Gavin Seim:
I like that you're focusing on controlling dynamic range and keeping nice mild processing.
On a critical not I think you would befit by slowing down and thinking about your scenes and compositions more. Some of these are cluttered and most are vague on the subject. Also once you have a solid subject, I find using burn and dodge in critical to control tonal values on a good HDR as it keeps the focus where you want it.
