Hello :)
My name is Audrey, im 15 years old, and I absolutely adore photography! I have the Canon XSi that I use with the Canon 50mm f/1.4 and I love them both (took me FOR-ever to save up for though) Instead of buying the XSi with the kit lens,(which I read was pretty low standard) I bought the body only, and only recently saved up enough money to get the 50mm. Well I would really appreciate some tips and/or advice about photography   :)

Welcome Audrey.  You did well to save up so much at your age!  Any questions, feel free to post them here and we'll see what we can do to help out.

Andrew.

Now that you have yourself an excellent camera and lens, go out and take some pictures! read what you can about photographic composition, learn what you can about what it takes to get a proper exposure, but don't let any of it get between you and making pictures! You will learn as you go and get better with every picture you take! Don't be afraid to take chances or make mistakes. There are tons of good photographers here and on other forums, all with good advice, all with varying degrees of ability to encourage people to do their best, so don't be discouraged if you ask a question or post a picture and someone seems overly critical. They just want you to do the best you can, and we all have different ways of dealing with people. It's nothing personal. And remember to have fun!

My suggestion is take a photo class and/or yearbook class/school paper. You will get the basics from a teacher and with yearbook/school paper you will get access to several school functions and sports to shoot. One thing else learn the basics like exposure, f/stops, focus and composition.
